“A holistic approach to the economy is necessary to avoid social, environmental and economic collapse,” according to a new report by the Capital Institute.
The Institute is a non-partisan, trans-disciplinary collaborative launched in 2010 by former JPMorgan Managing Director John Fullerton, who leads the organization a team of five women and one man who encompass a range of expertise, from financial and communications sciences, to sustainability studies.
This approach make perfect sense to me. Unbridled capitalism is certainly failing our species, yet I don’t see pure socialism as having any greater value on it’s own. I like the idea of taking a step back and acknowledging that everything is indeed interconnected and needs to be considered in a comprehensive context, one which also considers human nature.
