A Plum in Summer (a poem)

plumsA Plum in Summer

At the market,
I bit into a plum
a farmer gave to me.

As the juice ran down my hand,
I felt summer in my soul.

This poem was inspired by a lovely plum given to me at the Wakefield Farmers Market by Patty Benjamin of
Charlton Orchards, Charlton MA

Nice, Wendy. I’ve had a few PEACH MOMENTS like that myself this summer. I love the stone fruit at this time of year.
